Last night the House of Campari hosted an evening for the exhibition "Defining a Moment: 25 New York Artists" in SoHo. The doors opened at 7:30 and curator Simon Watson gave an exclusive walkthrough of the exhibition for members of Artlog. St. Vincent, performed at 8:45 follwing a DJ set from Cat Hartwell, lead singer of Holy Hail and formely of Fannypack. During the set St. Vincent made a point to tell the audience to actually check out the art, which was extremely necessary as I myself notice many people do not look at what an event is about and head straight for the free alcohol!
The show was close and intimate and everyone had a prime view. The space itself had several stories from which to view the gallery and the drink selection was very diverse, including six different mixed drinks all made with Campari. Next week, House of Campari is hosting an evening with Eli "Paperboy" Reed and The True Loves, featuring a musical performance by Robbers on High Street. Hope to see everyone there!
