Look around your house. Do you have extra coats, blankets, furniture, kitchen supplies? Any of these items are much appreciated by organizations that re-sell things. If you have nicer pieces laying around, consider donating to silent auctions to garner a higher price tag for non-profits. For 35 years, City Opera Thrift Shop has been a vital fundraising initiative for The New York City Opera and accepts vintage pieces.
