The Refinery Hotel
Why: The Refinery Hotel brings an elegant, old-school charm to a relatively quiet section of Midtown. The space, which used to be a hat factory in the early 1900's, opened its doors in May and has been buzzing since. The rooftop bar, which offers an incredible view of the Empire State building, was all the rage this summer (it's open year-round), and the hotel restaurant Parker & Quinn has been getting attention for delectable New American tapas. Our favorite part is the refined decor (no pun intended), which has attracted everyone from Midtown's after-work crowd to Project Runway's contestants, who were housed there this season.
