Magnises

The concept behind the black card for the young elite was a little shady to begin with. You see, it's not actually a credit card - it's your debit card, but with all the magnetized information transferred over to a fancier looking prop. For around $250 a year, members ideally receive special perks, invites to exclusive parties (like this conga line situation here), discounts and last minute reservations to hot spot restaurants, and access to the Magnises West Village clubhouse.

Three years later, however, members seem to be getting duped. In January of 2017, Business Insider claimed that multiple complaints had been made about the company's ticketing service, which served as a go-between for big-name shows like "Hamilton" or Beyonce concerts. Last-minute cancellations and a slow refund process were a precursor to the Fyre disaster.
