Inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art await treasures whose histories traverse time and space.  But before you pick up your admissions button, take a seat on the museum's steps and take in some NYC history.  New Yorkers and tourists alike have made the Met steps a fixture for munching on soft pretzels and meeting up with friends.  And ever since Gossip Girl's queen bees began frequenting the steps, it has become increasingly difficult to stake out a space.  The museum steps are also famous as the site of the annual Met Costume Institute Gala red carpet, scaled by those who have scaled the fashion and entertainment worlds.
