G-STAR RAW CELEBRATES RAW CAMPAIGN AND LAUNCHES EYEWEAR

Other details: The high ceilings, rows of chandeliers, and original gothic details of the High Line Hotel set the scene for G-Star RAW's creepy-cool NYFW event. "Destroy to Reconstruct" was the title of the night, referring to the brand's method of cutting a solid piece of denim and then reconstructing it in order to create the perfect pair of jeans. The theme was carried throughout the venue, as cut-up jeans, ghostly mannequins, and dark denim horses took to the spotlight, in addition to the plates of "deconstructed" hors d'oeuvres that were being passed around the huge, but packed room. A DJ set by Tennessee Thomas was followed by a rocking live performance by Brit band Kasabian, fronted by G-Star campaign talent Sergio Pizzorno. Towards the end of the night, the off-season humidity combined with the heat of open-bar amounts of alcohol drove many partygoers into the dimly lit but welcoming courtyard of the converted hotel, where they snuck in puffs of cigarettes and tried to cool off before heading back inside.
