Other details: On Wednesday DJ Richie Hawtin (aka Plastikman) filled the white, winding interior of the Guggenheim with a special, private, electronic dance music set, for the pre-party of Guggenheim International Gala. The DJ, selected by Dior, is world renowned for his legendary and groundbreaking electronic sets. Dior creative director Raf Simons was on hand to experience the performance, which was set to the backdrop of Matthew Hawtin's visual art. Actresses Elizabeth Olsen and Cobie Smulders enjoyed the event alongside the fashion-heavy crowd, including Derek Blasberg, Olivier Theyskens, and Harley Viera Newton. The Guggenheim International Gala will honor James Turrell and Christopher Wool, who's retrospective is on display now at the museum.
