Other details: Last night, Veronica Miele Beard & Veronica Swanson Beard celebrated the debut of their Veronica Beard collection at Bergdorf Goodman. Bringing street art to 5th, the Veronicas launched their spring collection on Bergdorf’s 5F with customized graffiti tote bags by Humphrey Industries’ Ryan Humphrey. For the launch, Humphrey recreated the vibes from the designers’ Spring 2014 presentation.
“The Spring collection was inspired by the '80s and the opulence of that time and this uptown girl that we juxtaposed a lot with subway art,” said Veronica Swanson Beard on the collection’s street art influence.
“I’m a little bit rebellious. Spray paint is one of my go-to materials,” explained artist Ryan Humphrey. In addition to the customized tote bags, the dynamic Veronica Beard duo went all out, designing a slew of limited edition items for Bergdorf Goodman including their signature jacket (in White & Navy) and three interchangeable dickies. The designers celebrated with friends and family; Veronica Miele Beard and daughter Helena Beard posed near Bergdorf’s Veronica Beard offerings. DJ Chelsea Leyland swung by to support the designers while Kelly Rutherford scoped out the line. When asked what Bergdorf’s means to the Veronicas as designers, Swanson Beard gushed:
“It’s so exciting! We’ve wanted to be [at Bergdorfs] since day one and we really feel like we’ve earned it. It’s where our customer shops, it’s where we shop. It’s like a dream come true to have [the collection] here!”
