Other details: Persol celebrated the opening of Persol Magnificent Obsessions: 30 Stories of Craftsmanship In Film, the final installment in a series of three exhibitions uncovering the obsessive workmanship within filmmaking. The exhibition was unveiled at an exclusive, dinner featuring specialty crafted drinks and dishes, that took inspiration from the films being honored. During dinner, guests were serenaded by flamenco guitarist Francisco Navarro, who performed music from the Academy award-winning soundtrack of Frida before moving to the amphitheater for a stunning martial arts performance from students from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon star Master Gao’s academy.

The performance was followed by a private tour of the exhibition, hosted by curator Michael Connor, where guests had the opportunity to view rarely seen artifacts from some of cinema’s most iconic films, as well as behind the scenes notes, sketches and materials used in the world’s greatest filmmakers’ development processes. From there, guests made their way to the garden to sip on champagne, enjoy another musical performance, and take in the magical mid-summer night.
