The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center Honors Meryl Streep with the Monte Cristo Award

Other details: Last night, legendary actress Meryl Streep was honored with the 14th Annual Monte Cristo award presented by the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. The award is presented to a theater artist who embodies the Eugene O'Neill artistic spirit and commitment to the form. Past winners have included Kevin Spacey, Christopher Plummer and Michael Douglas, who was on hand at the event with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones. Guests including Judith Light and Tony Kushner, who talked about their experiences working with Streep. Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez closed out the night with a special tribute song.
