Last night, the Cinema Society and Mont Blanc presented a screening for IFC films’ "Hateship Loveship". The Museum of Modern Art played host to the premiere. Fresh face Sami Gayle arrived early, followed by co-star Kristen Wiig. The film depicts Wiig as a drab caretaker who is tricked into love. When asked how she approached a serious role, Wiig smartly replied, “not any differently.” The film allowed the celebrated comedian to show off her acting chops. Wiig approached the premiere with the same compelling attitude, opting for a strong J.Mendel number. Designer Gilles Mendel was also in attendance. Sami Gayle later snapped a selfie on the sidelines with stylist Robert Verdi.
Following the screening, the cast headed to the Skylark for the after party where Kristen Wiig chatted with director Liza Johnson, and Natalie Joos caught up with Scott Lipps near the bar. Mont Blanc set up shop near the balcony where guests enjoyed personalized calligraphy. Partygoers also took advantage of the evening’s warm weather, taking in the view of the Empire State Building from the Skylark’s outdoor terrace. Surrounded by the scaling buildings of midtown, guests enjoyed Qui Tequila cocktails, aptly dubbed “Loveship” & “Hateship.”
