Other details: Following her
Friday morning arrest, Reese Witherspoon made it to New York on Sunday for the premiere of her new film, "Mud." She posed with other cast members but did not stop to talk to reporters on the red carpet. Earlier in the week, Witherspoon was arrested on a municipal charge of disorderly conduct after she refused to listen to the state trooper, who was arresting her husband, Jim Toth, for driving under the influence of alcohol. Later on Sunday, she released a statement apologizing for her inappropriate behavior.
"I clearly had one drink too many and I am deeply embarrassed about the things I said," Witherspoon said. "It was definitely a scary situation and I was frightened for my husband, but that is no excuse. I was disrespectful to the officer who was just doing his job. I have nothing but respect for the police and I'm very sorry for my behavior."
