Other details: Last night at No.8, resident DJ Stretch Armstrong hosted a special evening featuring legendary DJ and inventor of modern turntableism Grandmaster Flash. The event kicked off Armstrong's new weekly party at the Rec Room featuring prolific DJs who are encouraged to play songs they typically can't play at clubs. Of the event Armstrong said this: "The part of this that requires some discipline is to resist the quick and easy gratification of playing current hits. In the short term this works but it makes it impossible to curate a long-running night based on real music and the people that crave a place to hear it." The night was filled with top tier DJs who came out to hear Grandmaster Flash, including DJ Red Alert, Uncle Mike, Statik Selector, DJ NVM, DJ Juss, DJ Franky Flowers, and more.
