This weekend, we were all shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM. Having just featured his Dusk show in Friday's coverage, the turntable master leaves us after surviving a devastating plane crash, a painful gastric bypass surgery, years of scrutiny while living in the public eye and drug rehab. Letting his music for itself instead of feeling the need to assume a public personality, DJ AM hit every big venue and had countless (including starlet) fans and admirers. The medical examiner released his remains, this morning. While it will likely be weeks before a cause of death is confirmed, many are already saying overdose after crack and a crack pipe were discovered near Adam's body in the SoHo apartment where he died. The unfortunate conclusion, if confirmed, tragically questions Adam's decade long declarations of sobriety.
Regardless of the cause of death, Adam will always be loved, and his work long remembered. He left us too soon.
