Fraunces Tavern

Fraunces Tavern
Date Opened: 1762 Fraunces Tavern is the oldest restaurant on our list, and was a popular meeting spot for the Sons of Liberty when it first opened. During the American Revolution, George Washington gave his goodbye to the Continental Army at the Tavern, and the restaurant has been frequented by political figures ever since. In the 1960s, the building was declared an NYC landmark and part of the building has been transformed into a museum. Fraunces Tavern, 54 Pearl St, New York Fraunces Tavern [Photo via]
