Balthazar's Keith McNally is no stranger to opening trendy, Euro-themed restaurants and he continues this theme with Morandi, a rustic Italian trattoria in the West Village. Given the owner's acclaim and the enticing menu (which includes pretty much every brunch food imaginable, all with an Italian twist), getting a table here is no easy feat. Despite the crowds and roaring volume, the restaurant maintains a laid back, family-style atmosphere, which extends to the servers who are notoriously friendly and conscientious.
