Jungsik
When people think of Korean food, often what comes to mind is steaming bowls of bibimbap and plates of kimchi and tofu, all slathered in a bright red chili paste. Jungsik brings a different take on the country's ethnic cuisine, offering these familiar flavors in the form of more culinary ambitious creations. The point here is refinement, and each carefully crafted dish in the 10 course ($155) tasting menu speaks to this cause. A native of South Korea, Chef Jung Sik Yim moved to the U.S at the tender age of 25 to further his culinary career, leading to a collision of the native tastes of his childhood with the modern culinary techniques of America... and Jungsik is the result. While remaining true to the flavors of traditional Korean cuisine, the menu here incorporates western ingredients and textures to create an entirely new realm of dishes that will leave you speechless.
