American Bar
Ostensibly the downtown version of The Polo Bar, American Bar is precisely the place to see and be seen amidst the social set whose version of "downtown" goes no further than the West Village. That's OK, though, because here they have caviar and potato chips, lobster tails, and a steady flow of martinis. A safe space, if you will.
