Last night the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative, an organization that sponsors young and promising artists for the purpose of allowing them focus solely on their work, held their Gala at the David H. Koch Theatre at Lincoln Center.
Guests enjoyed cocktails, three-course seafood dinner, and presentations by mentors and their students. The organization awarded six mentors into the program. Each being a distinguished and acclaimed artist, these mentors will be able to guide students to better themselves and their art.
The evening was hosted by Martin Scorsese with other guests including Steve Buscemi, Jo Andres, David Dinkins, Joyce Dinkins, Ben Frost, Brian Eno, Peter Sellars, Maya Zbib, Lee Serle, Trisha Brown, Paula Patton, , Frances McDormand, Julie Taymor, Stephen Frears, Anna Deveare Smith, Maura Tierney, Danny Glover, Lou Reed, Rufus Wainwright
