David Sedaris Legit Never Looks At His Phone

by Christie Grimm · March 9, 2020

There's no one quite like David Sedaris, the semi-eccentric, extremely relatable, tragically funny author.

This week, David made an appearance on Kevin Nealon's hike/Youtube show to chat about a myriad of amusing topics. Any fan of David's books will know he is an avid walker - obsessively pacing the roads of his English countryside village picking up trash, fueled by a hatred for litter. As he tells Kevin, his Fitbit record was 91,000 steps (43 miles), after which four of his toenails turned black and fell off. He chats about his recent foray into the world of male Spanx ("a tee shirt for babies"), and his for-no-reason dislike of dogs.

But most notable of all the facts he treated us to? When asked towards the end of the hike if he had his phone, David replied, "Not on me. My phone last week said I had a minute and a half screen time, and my goal is to cut that in half."

A MINUTE AND A HALF SCREEN TIME?! Can you imagine the anxiety / serenity that would ensue!?!?
