The Best Dressed Guests Of The Week: Week Of June 6, 2010

by Chiara Atik · June 11, 2010

Everyone knows that the best part about going out is getting dressed up, and the attendees at the parties Guest of a Guest covers usually do this with aplomb. Here are the people (and outfits) who made an impression on us this week…-

First Place: Caroline McCarthy At the Webutante Ball

We luuuuurvvvee this (blue? purpleish?) Halston Heritage that Caroline McCarthy wore to the Webutante Ball. We love her bright blue bracelet even more; a fun, unexpected pairing. Because she opted for a long dress, she wisely kept her hair and make-up simple.

It's a good dress on its own, but we especially like it in contrast to the cheesy cocktail prom look that most people opt for at Webutante. (Caroline self-admittedly chose such a look at last year's event.) We looked at last year's pictures, and she looked fine! But she looks GREAT this year, and we gotta recognize.

Second Place:Mellow Yellow at the Guest of a Guest Non-Internet Party

This girl really stood out at our party last night. Most of the crowd was relatively ok with venturing away from boring black, but no one made quite as bold of a leap as this girl, who's bright outfit looked amazing against the deep colors of the Jane decor, and, in our opinion, made her hair look pretty, too. (We hear it's hard for redheads to dress for their skin and hair, but this girl's got it down pat.)

Extra points for the earrings...we just wish we could see her shoes!

Third Place: A Vision In Taupe At The Vane X Sebago Concept Store

This guy sort of looks like he should be a painter or something. We loooove when people stick to one bold color scheme (if we can call taupe bold?), but guys SO rarely do it. The skinny matching scarf is a nice touch, and we LOVE the glasses. Can someone please write a TV pilot about this guy? We'd watch.

Best part? His half-smile. We just tried to mimic it ourselves, and looked like we'd just had a stroke, so we applaud this guy for pulling it off.

Fourth Place: Mallory June at the DVF Screening of "Change Of Plans"

It's like Laura Ashley grew up and became a movie star. The dress is very pretty, the cut is flattering, and we're fans of anything that hooks closed, (as opposed to buttons or, even more boringly, zips.)

LOVE her rosy lips and blooming cheeks, but we especially like that she keeps the look from getting too saccharine with her dark vamp-ish nails.

    Honorary Mentions: The Animals

I guess the lesson is, if you're willing to wear a heavy, probably uncomfortable, not necessarily flattering lobster suit to a party in the middle of the summer, you WILL reap the rewards.

And we can't leave out our beloved Stanley; he may not have been the best dressed, but he's definitely the most photogenic.
