Ronnie Wood Original "Muhammad Ali" Mixed Media Painting on Canvas, 2002
Ronnie Wood "Ali" Double Signed and Hand Embellished Limited Edition Print, 2002. This piece is one of only 100 prints that Ronnie released in 2002 that are signed by BOTH Ronnie and Muhammad AlI. These prints are rare, but this one is absolutely unique as Ronnie has embellished it with an Ali quote in gold paint pen. Ronnie was introduced to boxing Legend Muhammad Ali in 1978 in New York City before his re-match with Leon Spinks. The two formed a loyal friendship, and Ali has been the subject of several of Wood’s paintings, many of which were auctioned to raise money for Ali’s charity, The Muhammad Ali Center for Peace. Capturing the intensity and power of arguably the greatest boxer of all time, Wood expertly translates the fierce energy of Ali as he towers over the fallen Sonny Liston in the famous knockout of the heavyweight match on May 25, 1965.
