Last Friday night, Lu Magnus celebrated the Opening Reception of "Totally," an exhibition by L.A.-based artist Tofer Chin. The pristine-white gallery was transformed by Mr. Chin, who, in addition to artworks inspired by 80s and early 90s skater culture, plastered the two-story-high back wall with photographic panels depicting the underside of a Los Angeles bridge.

Guests from fields of art, fashion, business, and entertainment descended the gallery's staircase into the world created by Mr. Chin, which included a Limbo-like installation entitled 23 White Stalagmites on White, such geological protrusions being one of the artist's signature forms. Sipping Heinekens, rum-spiked cider, and flutes of Dom Perignon, guests orbited the gallery space, pausing to congratulate the artist and Lu Magnus owners Lauren Scott Miller and Amelia Abdullahsani.

Afterward, select art aficionados were invited to an after party at exclusive speakeasy Fig 19, where proprietresses Kristin Vincent and Nadia Koch poured tequila shots and champagne-on-tap in celebration of the artist's first New York exhibition.
