Minnewaska State Park offers visitors. 25 miles of foot paths, 35 miles of carriageways, waterfalls, impressive cliffs, and beautiful Lake Awosting. You can also bike or horseback ride (if you bring your own horse and buy a permit on-site). Minnewaska State Park shares a border with Mohonk Mountain Preserve, and the beautiful Mohonk Mountain House and the laid-back college town of New Paltz is only 10 miles away. Trailways bus to New Paltz is about 90 minute ride from NYC.
