Nick Jonas (singer, songwriter, teen heartthrob, and arguably our favorite Jonas brother) has entered the fashion space via design collaboration with audio brand, Altec Lansing. To celebrate, Altec Lansing hosted a party at Up & Down where the collection of headphones, earphones, and home/outdoor speakers were on display. This marks the first celebrity collaboration for the audio brand. While guests waited in anticipation for Nick’s arrival, partygoers tried an interactive green screen karaoke booth dropping you in the background of a Nick Jonas music video, and enjoyed heavy hors-d'oeuvres while jamming out to Harley Viera-Newton behind the DJ booth.
The usual industry suspects were in attendance albeit a larger crowd than your typical industry event, and although we’re known for keeping it cool, guys and gals shamelessly tried clawing their way to the front to get a good glimpse (and Instagram) of the artist. Attendees were certainly not afraid to get “too close” – see what we did there?
Nick addressed a select crowd on the upper level prior to the start of his official “after party,” and spoke to why he chose Altec Lansing as a design partner. “For me, it’s all about the way my music is heard. I care about the clarity and the quality and I spend a lot of time in the studio making it right. The fact that it sounds right, it looks right, and it fits into my lifestyle, is key. I knew this collaboration with Altec Lansing was appropriate for me and [I was] able to make something that I can be really proud of.” Ike Franco, Chairman of Altec Lansing, dubbed Nick “the Derek Jeter” of music while sharing his excitement for the upcoming collection.
Other VIPs in attendance included Martha Hunt, Alex Pettyfer, Sara Sampaio (the female lead for Nick’s hot and heavy “Chainsaw” music video), and Jessica White, to name a few. Click through to see images from the party!
