You Should Know: Designer Emily Saunders
Emily Saunders is the designer and owner behind the fashion line SAUNDER which launched in 2011 and is produced solely in NYC's Garment District. "A traveler at heart, Saunders infuses her line with global influences as well as an overall flavor of downtown New York," explains her site, and her brand has appeared in publications including WWD, Bello, and Foam, as well as on celebrities like McKayla Maroney and Halle Berry. Emily's latest Fall/Winter collection features stunning dresses, jackets, tops, and more, all made with enriched fabrics, fun embellishments, and unique detail. What do you actually do all day? My day often involves an alarming amount of spreadsheets and emails but can also involve design, fabric sourcing, image research, and all that good stuff.
Favorite song growing up? Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

Why do you live in NYC? Because it feels like home.
Uber, Taxi, Subway, or Citi Bike? Subway and I recently started taking the bus again after years of thinking it was slow and annoying.

What was your first job? My first unpaid job was working in the Women's Costume at the Royal Opera House, my first paid job was at a hedge fund crunching numbers.

What is your favorite work of art? Sonja by Christian Schad.
Who should we know? Cullen Meyer - scarf designer and the most impeccably dressed man I know.
