A Blue Lagoon Luxury Hotel Is Coming To Iceland

by Millie Moore · April 3, 2017

Iceland's likely on your bucket list after pinning gorgeous images of the place while on a Pinterest binge. Who can blame you? It's got awe-inspiring natural wonders and is generally untainted by tacky tourists that you have grown to loathe as a New Yorker.

Consider yourself one step closer to crossing Iceland off your bucket list, then, because a luxury hotel is on its way. That's right, the construction of Moss Hotel and Lava Cove is currently under way and should be finished by this fall.

The hotel rooms are inspired by Scandinavian culture with a sophisticated edge. Situated on the blue lagoon, those staying on the first floor have instant access to it while those on the second floor have a breathtaking view of it. The hotel is being constructed around a spa that has been there for a while now. It's built on an 800 year old lava field - which is essentially a huge geothermic hot tub where you can soak up while taking in panoramic views of the region. It's the same one that was featured on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and at least when you go, you won't have to deal with annoying-ass Jonathan Cheban (who blocked me on Twitter even though I've never mentioned him, BY THE WAY)!

Hopefully you haven't used your frequent flyer miles up on too many other off-the-grid vacation destinations, because this place is definitely worth your while!
