Laurie Hernandez
At just 16 years old this New Jersey native became the first U.S. born Latina since 1984 to go to the Olympics with the U.S. gymnastic team, as well as one of the youngest athletes to go to Rio. In 2015 she not only went undefeated in four competitions (two domestic and two international) but also won all-around gold at the national championships along with medals on all four events.
