Gold Mail
In honor of the 2012 London Olympics, the Royal mail will paint some of their postboxes gold. The boxes, which are usually painted the ubiquitous red, will be treated to a royal face lift when an Olympian or Paralymian from the UK earns a gold medal. With only a few exceptions, all of the postboxes in the UK have been red since 1874. The competitors who earn the gold will also earn a gold painted postbox for their hometown. There will be a special team on standby to paint those postboxes within a few days of the win.
