The After Hours Go-To: Le Connétable
This after hours bar pushes out the last customers right as the metro starts again at 5am. It's my personal go-to for a night that promises to be funny, and certainly a little bizarre. Head to the Marais on a Saturday night, knock back a few cocktails at
Stolly's or
La Perle (where John Galliano ruined his name), but make your way to Connétable no earlier than 1am.
Once inside, squeeze your way upstairs and brace yourself for a strong cloud of smoke. The upstairs room at Conné (as the locals like to call it) is one of the few places in Paris where you can still smoke inside. Definitely don't be afraid to practice your French with the locals, because the international mix at this bar is far friendlier than the average Parisian spot and by the end of the night you will have gained a new circle of Swedish, Australian, French and German friends.
