Immersive Dining in an Eclectic City with Ultraviolet (Shanghai)
There are very few places in the world that can give you a literal sensory experience. Ultraviolet is one of those places. There is a theatre to dining at acclaimed French-chef Paul Pairet’s little pet project. Diners convene in a designated meeting point where they are then taken to a warehouse in a fully tinted van. The theatrics of the meal commences with floor to ceiling LED screens that envelope a 10-seater table. All five senses are stimulated with the arrival of each course, from a blizzard-esque breeze that charges through the room accompanying a chilled amuse bouche to visual simulation of being underwater paired with the fresh scent of the ocean, as seafood is served. By the end of the meal, you will feel like you have been on a sensory roller coaster across a multitude of terrains and adventures - without actually leaving your seat.
