Qatar's Royal Palace, which has been home to the Emir of Qatar since he was crowned in 2000, is every bit as over the top as you might imagine. While the palace itself is impressive, Qatar's royal family is known to display their enormous wealth in ways other than their lavish home. One example is the royal family's official cars, all of which are painted a light blue. Not exactly as discreet as a black Bentley (like the one Queen Elizabeth rides in), but discretion has never been one of the Emir's strong suits. The Emir, who has 3 wives and 24 children, also recently purchased a $250 million painting, and that's only one of many major art purchases he's made over the past few years.
