That’s a mere 360 hours. The Ark hotel was built at a fraction of normal Chinese construction costs, with no worker injuries. And the building isn’t flimsy: It is built to withstand a 9.0-magnitude earthquake, and energy-efficient to boot. Watch the time-lapse video of the hotel’s construction.

I love that I came across this today of all days. My husband is trying to tell me that it will take two days, not one, to wallpaper our baby's room. "The Chinese can complete two whole floors of a hotel in a day and you're telling me we can't wallpaper one room?!" ...is how the email went just now ;)
