Synchronous Fireflies of The Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

If you're getting a migraine from the florescent lighting in your office, take a trip to The Great Smoky Mountains. Every year for two weeks (this year May 31st through June 7th), synchronous fireflies emerge from their two larval years and fly through the park emitting unique flash patterns via bioluminescence before mating and dying. View their brilliant ephemeral existence and finally get some natural light.
