In the beautiful Piazzo del Campo in Italy, a festival runs for 4 days, twice a year to celebrate an apparition of the Virgin Mary. The main part of the festival includes a horse race on July 2nd and August 16th during the larger festivities. The horse race is more of a symbolic race: it lasts a mere 90 seconds and there is no winner. The festival draws Italians and travelers alike every year to celebrate life.
