"Best 2k I Ever Spent!" Tiesto Live At Josephine

by Alex Max · March 27, 2012

When we released the exclusive scoop on Tiēsto's intimate Monday night set at Josephine nightclub, we were prepared for one wild evening with Club GLOW. But nothing, absolutely nothing could have prepared us for a night that will go down forever in the annals of DC nightlife history.

From head promoters to club owners to professional socialites, literally ALL of DC's nightlife royalty was present and in fine form last night. Among the revelers we spotted: Steve Acott, Zack Huhn, Nicholas Dale, Blake Halperin, Jimmy Abernathy, Alain Kalantar, and Antonis Karagounis. With tickets to the event at 70 dollars a pop and tables starting upwards of 1700 dollars, the event hosted a bevy of big-spenders. In addition to those conspicuous consumers however, Tiësto's popularity attracted a large number of individuals solely interested in dancing and the music, a contingent of people rarely present in DC nightlife.

"What just happened in there was something special. I've partied at some of the most legendary nightlife spots in the world, and outside Mansion in Miami, or Ibiza I've never seen a set compare."-Nicholas Dale, partner at Vinyl Agency

We thought that we had seen Josephine at her wildest for her 4th birthday party, but to be perfectly honest, it would be criminal to compare last night to that party. The bottle wars between tables started at 11, and by 1:30 the bottle wars had turned into Moet spraying challenges. Which begs the question; is there really anything better than "The Pit" at Josephine's packed with champagne soaked club girls in mini-skirts? Doubt it. At any rate, "The Pit" has never more aptly suited its' name.

@stephenacott tweeted:

"Haven't seen DC rocking like that on a Monday in a long time for @Tiesto last night! Kudos"

Opening with much of his own music and gradually fading into more standard club beats and tracks, last night made it apparent why Tiesto has thrice been labelled the top DJ in the world by DJ Mag. Downing at least 4 shots in the DJ booth, Tiesto's excitement and energy were palpable, and his Dutch grin was downright infectious. Although Tiësto's entourage disallowed Guest of a Guest's photographer (who does he think he is?), we would never let down our readers by failing to report on one of the biggest nightlife stories of the year.

With no trace of exaggeration, last night may have been the single most epic and wild night that DC nightlife has ever seen. Regardless, nights like that maybe come around once in decade, and if you missed it, we truly pity you. But if you did, be sure to catch Tiesto tonight, as he continues his string of DC parties with Club GLOW at Club Fur.
