Given my confessed obsession with holiday themed plaids, it is no surprise that
Matt Gerber is also on my best dressed list.
The incorporation of a vintage plaid cummerbund and bowtie added that fun fratstar twist to the otherwise classic
Ralph Lauren formal outfit. Adding the scarlet silk scarf took Matt’s outfit to the next level by tying the crimson accessories together without going overboard. Without it, the other accessories ran the risk of seeming like random apparel additions instead of a fashion statement. The solid shade of the scarf was also an ideal addition to the outfit, as more plaid would have been overkill and probably would have made him look like he borrowed his accessories off of a Scottish kilt. The patent loafers finish the look and emphasis the outfit’s formal motif, and the sunglasses...well, he can pull them with that outfit, so we will leave it at that!
