Guests were greeted by talented young Irish step dancers provided by The Culkin School of Irish Dance on the grand staircase of The Carnegie Institution for Science, a super cool venue smack-dab in-between Dupont and Logan circles.
Festive cocktail dresses and green ties filled the room, and spirits were high as guests dined on finger foods provided by Occasions Caterers and bid on various auction items from sports memorabilia to a Hard Rock Casino Package.
The 19th Street Band never fails to entertain and kept guests dancing into the wee hours. Many are anxiously awaiting An Samhain: An Irish Halloween, a members-only event, hosted by the Irish Embassy on October 27th to hear whether their name will drawn as the winner of the two roundtrip tickets to Ireland courtesy of Aer Lingus. Raffle tickets are still available through Susan O'Neill & Associates for those that want to test their Irish luck!
Reilly O'Connor, DC Young Leader’s Chair; Kevin Conmy, Embassy of Ireland’s Deputy Chief of Mission and Pat Tully, The American Ireland Fund’ s New York Regional Director, took a moment to address the crowd and discuss the importance of the Young Leaders Program and impact of The Fund’s support during this great time of need in Ireland. The DC Young Leaders are excited to announce that this was their most successful event to date, and will be donating over $20,000 towards the Promising Ireland Campaign and the Washington Ireland Program (WIP)!
