This past Saturday, beer lovers united to indulge in District the District, a beer-tasting extravaganza. With more than 30 craft beers to sample, the event was a perfect way to cool off on the hot summer day.
Since man cannot live on beer alone, DC's most popular food trucks lined up to feed the masses. José Andrés' Pepe, The Big Cheese, and The Tapas Truck were all there.
In between the drinking and eating, people took breaks by playing jumbo-size jenga with the folks from NAKID, the group that sponsors adult kickball and other social sports. People also indulged in the games of their collegiate youth, including Washington National's cornhole and flip-cup with Yelp. As a college student, I can honestly say I've never seen such an official game of flip-cup in my drinking experience.
If you weren't able to attend the sold-out event, fear not! Drink the District is hoping to continue the beer edition as well as expanding to wine, whisky, vodka, and tequila events. So if beer isn't your libation of choice, you can still join in on the fun!
