IMA Generation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to make schools in poverty-stricken regions of the world the source of social, cultural, and economic growth for their local communities. Last week Funxion was the site of the official launch party.
A new organization with a new Exectutive Director Ariell Kirylo, IMA Generation has big plans, and already has partners in Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Proceeds of specialty cocktails sales were donated to support sustainable açai cultivation. Other palatable offerings included wood fired pizza and mini bison burger hors d'oeuvres. DJ Adrian Loving provided smooth background jams as people mingled, and Tom P. provided live percussion to keep the night going after the main event.
The main event included words from sponsors, mentors, and the founders, as well as a special guest appearance by the Madam Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Look for more IMA Generation events to come.
