Inside Heirloom Catering & Event Design’s Launch Party!

Spring has officially sprung, and while the spring events season is just kicking off, we've already narrowed down some of our favorite April events! So, just in case you missed out on one of the city's top parties last week, we're taking you inside the vintage inspired launch soiree for DC's newest (and most stylish) events company, Heirloom Catering + Event Design!

On Thursday, April 16, more than 100 guests made their way to The Loft at 600 F Street to celebrate the launch of Heirloom Catering + Event Design, a full-service boutique catering and event design company that serves the DC metro area. The energy in the room as Heirloom's award-winning chefs and catering staff prepared for the evening's grand launch could be felt even prior to the doors opening and guests pouring in. While world-renowned music mixer, DJ Mixalis, got ready to spin for the crowd, staff set platters of boutique bites and decorative cocktails as Heirloom founder and style director, Vicky Theodorou, put the finishing touches on the event's stunning tablescapes creating the dynamic Heirloom aesthetic.

The vintage inspired event, curated by Theodorou with many items sourced from Something Vintage, featured rustic chic table decor, ornate hanging lanterns, delicate, reclaimed barn wood farm tables, and vintage side tables and suitcases. Everything from the Typecase Industries' letterpress station where guests made their own posters to the floral and bamboo photo station from JUST SMILE, Heirloom made sure no detail was left out.

An eclectic group of event planners, wedding concierges, entrepreneurs, bloggers, fashion designers, and media gathered to enjoy Heirloom's boutique bites and custom-crafted cocktails. Guests enjoyed a decadent refreshment bar boasting mini craft cocktails from local distillers such as One Eight Distilling, Charm City Meadworks, Deep Eddy Vodka, Green Hat Gin, and Element Shrub. Cocktails were paired with a dozen delicious appetizers including baby waffle cones filled with crispy buttermilk chicken and pickled peach, mini mojo roasted pork belly cubans with Gordy's Pickles sweet chips, sriracha lime shrimp with carrot radish slaw on a petite steamed bun, mini mac ‘n cheese bowls with wild lobster and aged Gruyere along with much more! The mouthwatering menu also featured dessert bites including baklava bread pudding, mini Belgian waffles topped with Bananas Foster, mini eclairs from g'eclaire, and Greek yogurt cheesecake filled berries.

Heirloom party goers shared hundreds of photos and messages on social media with the hashtag, #HeirloomDCLaunch. The event's hashtag automatically entered guests in a contest to win a privately catered party for 10 when they included the tag on their tweets and instagrams.

"The food and style of this event was a reflection of our love for creativity, style and seasonal, hand-crafted food, in a bite-sized artisan presentation," said Theodorou. "That's the style and inspiration we want to bring to your special occasion. My vision was brought to life my by amazing team and I'm truly overwhelmed by the support and love from the DC community! Stay tuned for all the good stuff ahead!"

After an evening of lush food and cocktails, mingling and snapping pics, at the event's end, guests stopped by the Compass Coffee bar to grab a cup of fresh-roasted coffee. Each guest took home a fabulous goody "bucket" designed by Marigold & Grey featuring cookies by Fresh Bakes, Belvoir Fruit Farms Organic Elderflower Presse, a spring potpourri sachet from Bazaar Spices, a mini Element Shrub herbal elixir, and an Heirloom coffee mug.
