The series kicked off with a signing by
Karen Sommer Shalett, editor-in-chief of
DC Modern Luxury Magazine and contributing author of "
True Blood: Eats, Drinks and Bites from Bon Temps." Guests enjoyed a cooking demonstration of southern classics and True Blood-inspired dishes by Vapiano’s chefs made with Le Creuset’s line of luxury cooking wares. Secolari provided "blood orange"-infused olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings on the Lane, while Blue Mercury provided vamp-worthy pouts at the Blood Red Lipstick Bar.

Michael Wilbon, discussed his new book, "
The Best American Sports Writing 2012" and signed copies of the updated anthology at
Equinox Bethesda. Following the signing, Vapiano offered guests specially priced food and drinks.
