Dough Gooders is a non-profit founded three years ago in Washington, DC, comprised of young professional women. The focus of Dough Gooders is to help the less fortunate, including the homeless population, in the DC community. Members get together once a month to prepare and cook nutritious meals for the homeless. Food is distributed by So Others May Eat. Members will be delivering cookies to Walter Reed Army Medical Center this holiday season.
The organization is cooking-centric and social, enabling busy female professionals to give back to their community on a regular basis. Members rotate hosting the cooking events which involve making food for approximately 300 people.
The group's holiday benefit this Thursday will spread the word about our growing charity (please come if you are interested in joining!) and raise funds for our 2013 endeavors. Donations help purchase the large quantity of food ingredients needed throughout the year.
Join the Dough Gooders women and friends on Thursday, December 6th at 8pm at the George Town Club for libations and light appetizers. Kick off your holiday season for a good cause, and say hello to our photographers!
