Why: From global phenomenon to highly sought after “secret,” Dîner en Blanc will take over Washington’s public space for the first time this summer on Thursday, September 4, 2014. This très chic impromptu picnic, imported from Paris and sponsored by Moet & Chandon, is equal parts mystery tour, pop-up feast and je ne sais quoi. The annual secret affair, promising an unforgettable evening of elegance, beauty and magic, will take over an undisclosed public space whose location will be revealed at a DC landmark space only a couple of hours prior to the commencement of the event. Over 1,200 foodies and cultural enthusiasts dressed in white are expected to attend the secret location. A night of gastronomic delights, live music, dancing, and a ceremonial waving of the napkins by guests. Diner en Blanc’s all-white dress code is mandatory. This is a ticket only event.
