THE TRAVELER’S LENS: PHOTOGRAPHY AND MEMORY
When: Tuesday, March 17 | 12AM
Where: 1050 Independence Ave SW
Why: Foursquare, and tons of other geotagging advancements and applications used on the internet, have provided people the tools and resources to save, stream and share their locations and photos with others. before then, people relied solely on drawings and digital and disposable cameras to capture locations and moments. The public discussion by Nancy Micklewright, interim head of the F|S Department of Public and Scholarly Engagement, will spark a conversation on the relationship between travel and photography, and how the two conserves the memory of past places we have visited.
