Last night, socials Peter Jansen and Daniela Kelley hosted a live Gideon Grove concert and a wine tasting at Peter's house on Capitol Hill, nicknamed "The 239" for the party. Gideon, a native Washingtonian, was a classically trained violist that grew up playing for diginitaries, politicians and celebrities. He quickly took to the guitar, and now writes songs that he describes as "heart-ripping folk." The sound is easy, slow and soothing with passionate lyrics that moved the crowd of about 30.
Guests enjoyed light bites with red and white wines from Cape Classic Wines, a delicious--yet super cheap--wine from South Africa.
Peter hopes to host more intimate gatherings like this, with the purpose of showcasing DC's music talent.
Guests included: Emily Berce, Bess Chapman, Peter Dixon, Lisa Gillenwater, Sean Hunter, Emily Jansen, Katherine Kennedy, Adam Klopp, Lauren O'Neil, Liz Owens, Becca Thorsen, and Sean Weidlen.
