FotoWeek DC Kicks Off With A Two-Part Launch Party

by Alexa Lombardo · November 5, 2011

FotoWeek DC, the week long festival of photography, opened last night with a two-part launch party. Washington's art and nightlife scenes combined to make one fantastic evening.

The night kicked off at FotoDC's L Street headquarters, FotoWeek Central, where guests were treated to an exclusive pre-showing of the space's 14 photography exhibitions. FotoWeek DC International Award Winners were there to show off their outstanding work.

Next, the party moved over to the Corcoran Gallery, where DC's art scene mingled with the city's beautiful and brightest. The museum was abuzz as partygoers sipped cocktails, munched on hors d'eouvres, and scoped out the beautiful gallery space. FatBack DJ's were spinning anything and everything, making it impossible to stay off the dance floor.

Be sure to check out the various exhibits around the city - FotoSpace, the Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art + Design, George Washington University, Pepco's Edison Gallery Place, and other partner venues.
