Other Details: Over thirty world’s leading designers and architects contributed designs to the Barrique Project, which repurposes old wine barrels for high-end furniture. The reception on Tuesday evening launched the exhibition, which was on display all week. Europe's largest rehab facility, San Patrignano in Italy, launched the project to teach patients the furniture-making trade and symbolizes new beginnings through barrels, for the patients. Guests enjoyed a selection of Italian wines and canapes.
Awards: San Patrignano patient Mike McKeaige presented awards he crafted with Italian designer Bob Krieger to the ambassador, Italian Trade Commissioner Pier Paolo Celeste, Italian-American Chamber of Commerce president Claudio Bozzo, and Dr. Elio Bracco of the Bracco Foundation for making the Barrique project possible.
