Other details: On Thursday November 13, 2014 600+ of DC’s most influential women came together to celebrate the work of Knock Out Abuse’s four beneficiaries through silent and live auctions, dinner and entertainment. Outfitted by event planning guru Andre Wells and planned to perfection by the Walker Marchant Group, Knock Out 2014 was truly an evening in Hollywood enjoyed by all. Knock Out Abuse co-founders Cheryl Masri and Jill Sorensen presented Governor Terry McAuliffe of Virginia with the 2014 Break The Silence award and honored Robin McGraw for her tireless efforts to enact change to support women and children victims of domestic violence. The night kicked off with heartfelt remarks and a touching personal experience with domestic violence by 2014 Chairwoman Dr. Rondi K Walker and culminated with a fabulous live auction led by Dancing with the Stars Champion Maksim Chmerkovskiy and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. Living up to the mantra of being the hottest ticket in town, Knock Out Abuse raised over $600,000 to support Bethany House, Crossway Communities, Safe Shores and the DC Volunteer Lawyer Project.
