Other Details: Stepping into Mansion on O is kind of like spending an afternoon at your grandparents house while they are having a gigantic yard sale. However, the charm of the Victorian architecture and eclectic trinkets found around the home make it simply captivating. Mustache Mondays, which happen every Monday at the Mansion and hosted some GofG interns at the last one, are a great way to get a group of friends together and remove your self mentally and physically from the hustle and bustle of DC and drink some Curious Traveler beers.
While you're there make sure to chat with the owners Dave and Sarah; they'll give your better life advice than any shrink you could find in this town. Warning: a 1 hour visit can easily turn into 3.
[One of the main attractions of the O Street Mansion are the 66 secret doors that are hidden in the house. Of those, one door leads to the famous wine cellar room. Owner H.H. Leonards explained that when the house is open to the public on Mondays the name of the game is always, "Can you find the wine cellar room?"]
